    I believe the correct answer from the choices listed above is the last option. Most of the particles went through the foil, but some were deflected. This proved that atom has mostly empty space, there is positively charged nucleas at the centre of the atom and the electrons revolve round the neucleus at large distances from it in circular orbits.
