In genetic engineering, for example, scientists are able to choose or arrange genes in DNA which may, for further example be used to eliminate the chances of getting certain diseases in humans. This is very different from natural reproduction where the product receives genes naturally without any engineering, giving it a high chance of capturing any same disease as the parents of the product. Hope this makes sense.
