Why are alkaline earth metals and alkali metals found in nature by themselves?

    If i'm assuming correctly, i think your question should have said "why are alkaline metals and alkali metals not found in nature by themselves?" and the answer to that question is because they are so reactive that they will automatically react with oxygen or water in the air if uncombined
