If you have a graduated cylinder containing 15.5 ml and this volume changes to 95.2 ml after a metal with a mass of 7.95 g is dropped into the graduated cylinder, then what is the density of this metal?

    The density of the metal is calculate as below

    density = mass/volume

    volume of the metal = volume of the cylinder after the metal was dropped - volume of cylinder before the meal was dropped

    volume = 95.2 - 15.5 - 79.7 ml

    mass = 7.95 g

    density = 7.95/79.7 = 0.0997 g/ml
