Why does one mole of carbon have a smaller mass than one mole of sulfur?

    Because sulfur has a bigger molar mass. Each sulfur atom has 8protons and 8 neutrons making the molar mass 16 Compare to carbon with only 6 protons and 6 neutrons; therefore only a molar mass of 12
