The density of water is 1.00 g/mL. If you're swimming pool holds 208,000 gallons of water, what is the weight of the water in a field swimming pool in tons? (1 ton = 2000lb).

    Explanation:

    1 US gallon of water (gal) = 8.35 pounds of water (lb wt.)

    so we divide 208,000 by 8.35 to covert to pounds

    then divide the pounds by 2000 to convert to tons
