    When there occurs an increase in temperature of a solvent or water then solubility of a gas decreases. This is because increase in temperature leads to increase in kinetic energy of the molecules of a gas.

    Due to which molecules become free of the intermolecular bonds. Hence, they tend to escape from the solution.

    Therefore, helium, chlorine and sulfur dioxide are soluble in cold water.

    Whereas both sodium chloride and sucrose are soluble in hot water as both of them are solid state. But when dissolved in hot water then increase in temperature of water tends to break the intermolecular bonds between the molecules of each of the salts.

    Therefore, they tend to dissolve readily in hot water.

    Thus, we can conclude that:

    sucrose and sodium chloride - dissolve in hot water. sulfur dioxide, chlorine, and helium - dissolve in cold water.
