7. The molar mass of carbon is 12.0 g/mol, of hydrogen is 1.0 g/mol, and of oxygen is 16.0 g/mol.

How would you calculate the molar mass of ethanol (C2H60) ?

• 9 mol * 6.02 x 10^23g

• 2 x 12.0g/mol + 1 x 16.0 g/mol

• 9 mol (12.0 g/mol + 1.0 g/mol + 16 g/mol)

• 12.0 g / mol + 1.0 g/mol + 16 g/mol

    2 x 12.0g/mol + 1 x6 + 16.0 g/mol

    Explanation:

    molecular formula = C₂H₆O (carbon = 12g/mol H = 1g O=16)

    = 2 x 12 + 6 x 1 + 16

    = 46 g Molecular mass
