Which ionic bond is predicted to have the smaller bond enthalpy, Li-F or Cs-F? For covalent compounds, closer the atoms stronger is the bond and more is the bond enthalpy. Similarly, for ionic compounds, smaller the size of ions closer the ions and stronger is the bond and more is the bond enthalpy.
