    It is known that like dissolves like. Since, water is a polar solvent and carbon tetrachloride is a non-polar substance so when both of them are mixed together then they will not mix together.

    But molecules of carbon tetrachloride will distribute evenly into water leading to the formation of a homogeneous mixture. Hence, their vapors will also form a homogeneous mixture.

    Also, we know that density is mass occupied per unit volume of a substance. Hence, more is the volume occupied less will be the density of substance. Therefore, gases are far less dense than liquids.

    And, gases are far more compressible than liquids.

    Thus, we can conclude that the statement because liquid water and liquid carbon tetrachloride do not mix, neither do their vapors, is false.
