    If temperature added

If temperature is added to the object, the particles of the object vibrate faster, the space between atoms increases. The motion and spacing of the particles determines the space of matter of the object. This results in increased molecular motion, object expands and takes up more space

    If temperature taken away

If temperature is taken away from object, the particles vibrate slower. The atoms can get closer result in the matter contracts.

In both cases the mass is not changes. and it happens in all solids, liquids and gases
