To what temperature must 32.0ft^3 of a gas at 2°C be heated for it to occupy 1.00 x 10^2ft^3 at the same time?

    859 k or 586 °C

    Explanation;

    According to Charles's law, the volume of a fixed mass is directly proportional to absolute temperature at constant pressure.

    Therefore;

    V1/T1 = V2/T2

    V1 = 32 ft³, T1 = 273 + 2 = 275 K

    V2 = 100 ft³, T2 = ?

    Thus;

    32 ft³/275 K = 100 ft³/T2

    Hence;

    T2 = 859 k or 586 °C
