Phase changes, why does steam at 100% see produce a more harmful burn then boiling water.

    Answer: steam has more energy than water (or else it would've stayed as a water). Steam can create a more harmful burn because it can be under higher pressure, so that it simultaneously burns away the skin. High pressure gases have also been known to penetrate the skin carrying liquids (such as oils) into the tissue beneath.
