    G. Stores Genetic information.

Primary function of DNA in organisms is to store genetic information. They are made up of nitrogenous bases including cytosine, guanine, adenine and thymine. The sequence of those bases is translated to amino acid sequence and then causes formation of proteins. Since proteins are crucial for all cellular functions, thus, it is important to preserve their information in DNA. Also, this genetic information is transmitted from one organism to its off-springs.
