Digital signals are more reliable than magnetic tapes in recording and transmitting information during a flight. Both are used in a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) for black boxes in airplanes. The magnetic tapes are used starting from the first flight of an aircraft up to this day. It is considered as an analog recorder and can easily be tampered. On the other hand, digital signals are automatically converted electric signals and recorded to the data recorder so it can't be easily tampered.
