How did humans find the atomic mass if it is the average of the mass of all the different versions of an element available on the earth?

In most cases, one isotope is highly dominant; thus when you measure the molar mass of many atoms of one element, you get the molar mass of the predominant isotope.

The molar masses can also be theoretically calculated from the composition of the isotopes.
