Two moles of magnesium in five moles of oxygen are placed in a reaction vessel. When magnesium is ignited, it reacts with oxygen. What is the limiting reactant in this experiment

    It is Magnesium. Because

    2Mg+O2=2MgO

    2 moles of magnesium are required for 1 mol of O2.

    We have 5 moles of O2.

    Thus, we would soon run out of Mg
