    Assessments allow the teacher to assign specific work to students individuslly, so that the work being provided is relevant to what they need to learn.

    Explanation:

    If one student fails a test on compound sentences, that student may continue receiving compound sentence homework while others move on to assignments more on their level. Everyone does something different in order to have individual success.
