What opposing belief do antigone and creon represent in sophocle's antigone?

    Creon is a tyrant, the antagonist. He chooses the rational laws of man and rejects the irrational laws of the gods. Antigone understands the importance of duty towards her family. Creon forbade anyone from burying her brother, Polyneices. Antigone believed that burying her brother was more important than the law.
