    The precaution I would take is make sure the word means what you are wanting it to mean. For example, you find a word in the thesaurus, but when you wrote it in let's say an essay, the word doesn't have the exact meaning. The word was instead a little off and then made the paper inaccurate. If that should happen it could confuse teachers and readers. I recommend using the dictionary after you find a word to double check. Some words are quite easy to understand the meaning, but if you want an elevated word choice watch out for confusing definitions.
