In the Long Beach California School District, statistics show that school fights and violence went down by 74 percent after uniforms were introduced. The parents and teachers demanding the introduction of school uniforms say that they will reduce misbehavior, cut down violence and fighting, and improve discipline among students. They say kids can often become obsessed with style sense and designer brands. When all students wear the same uniform, pressure on students to impress their classmates goes down.
