Birth rate - Death rate = natural increase

Natural increase + or - net migration

    Explanation:

Birth rates are the amount of birth per 1000 people and death rates are the number of deaths per 1000 people. If there is more birth than deaths the population is increasing naturally. If there are more deaths then the population will be decreasing. However, migration plays an important role. The next migration is calculated by taking into account the number of immigrants coming into the country and the number of emigrants leaving the country. It there is more coming in then add it to the natural increase. It there is less then subtract it from the natural increase.
