How is Mercury's evolutionary history like that of the Moon? How is it different?

Mercury cooled more slowly than the Moon because it is larger and more craters were erased which created intercrater plains. As its iron core get cooled it shrunk, thereby creating scarps along the planet's surface. Mercury does not have any evidence of maria.
