Cyprus is a country that is having both an internal and external problems. Though the country is officially united, in practice it is actually divided in two parts. In one of the parts, the bigger one, the dominant population is of Greek origin, Cypriots, while in the other part, the smaller one, the dominant population is Turkish.

In the future, it is very possible that the country will divide into two separate countries, with one being dominated by the Greek population on the island, and the other by the Turkish population, with the Turkish one being under the guidance of Turkey and being its dominion. Also, the chance of a conflict is very big and always on the verge of happening.

That can result in decline in the country's popularity as a tourist destination, and since that is its biggest income, so it can face huge economic problems and face poverty.
