This plate are constantly moving in different direction. Some are converging (colliding), some are diverging (moving apart) while some are moving past each other.

    Explanation:

The theory of continental drifting was propounded by Alfred Wegener. He saw that the continents could fit together just like a puzzle and he noticed the similarities in fossils found across the continents. This observation made Alfred to conclude that the earth was once a single continent (Pangae). He concluded the continents has been constantly moving. This theory was later known as the theory of continental drifting.

The theory of continental drifting and sea floor spreading (where the ocean floor is moving apart) was combined together to form theory of plate tectonic.

Plate tectonic theory describe the earth crust as been divided into various plate. This plate are constantly moving in different direction. Some are converging (colliding), some are diverging (moving apart) while some are moving past each other.
