Why did maclay ask that the treaties and other documents mentioned by washington also be read?

    William Maclay was one of the first two senators under the new federal government that was formed by the Constitution. He wanted and asked that the treaties and other legal documents mentioned by George Washington also be read so the investigation would be fair and just. And it is the right of all parties to know what was the truth.
