Why is it difficult for people to live in the Outback of Australia? A: The Outback is made of a volcanic plateau. B: The Outback is a rock plateau with few water sources. C: The Outback is a desert region with many dust storms. D: The Outback is a dry mountain region in the eastern Highlands.

    I would say that C) that the Outback is a desert region with many dust storms is partly true though it really refers to any remote areas in Australia and can include tropical areas as well and also means areas that have a low population density and can also include low intensity use such as pastoral grazing by cattle for example.
