Did the victory at Salamis change the status of lower-class Athenian citizens? How and why?

    It did change for the better. When Themistocles managed to beat the Persians, he got huge support from the lower-class people who saw that he could defend them in case of an invasion. He used this to get more power and this resulted with them getting the feeling of being more free and the democratic society prospered.
