Why do you think the Americans were less interested in vengeance after the great war then the French or British?

    It is the British and the French who had bore the blunt of the war as they had participated fully in the four years of battle. USA was a late entrant in the war and had not suffered as much damage as the two powers. The two powers punitive Versailles treaty was the direct catalyst of the rise of Adolf Hitler who aggressively sought another battle.
