Raphael's School of Athens showcases Greek elements and a depiction of depth as a painting technique. It also has a naturalistic realism with how the faces and bodies were painted. These are some of the characteristics of Renaissance Art; just by looking at the technique and style that were used by Raphael, one can already see that it reflects Renaissance Art. Another reason is that the painting focuses on reality - using actual human figures, and worldly matter, deviating from a spiritual focus. Humanism is a large Renaissance principle; Raphael's School of Athens showcasing the greatest philosophers and mathematicians of all time made it one of the greatest Renaissance paintings as well.
