    He had a workshop underneath a hospital where he would have access to the dead bodies. He would then dissect them. This gave him a sound understanding of anatomy; some suggest that he employed this knowledge to forge the Shroud of Turin ... or to make it more simpler ... He examined dead bodies in order to find out about the structure of the skeleton and muscles.
