The English Bill of Rights gave Parliament much of the power that it had demanded for so long, thus ensuring the superiority of Parliament over the monarchy. For instance, the existence of parliament allow som sort of check restrictions to be imposed onto the head of the country, which might not be possible in the monarchy system where the head of the country held an absolute power.
