John Rockefeller or maybe even Andrew Carnegie.

John Rockefeller was cruel and a harsh boss. He built his industry on oil and used his fortune to buy out small oil companies as well as railroads to move the oil.

Andrew Carnegie was not as cruel to his workers but was a ruthless businessman. He obtained access to iron and the process to create steel. He was a master in consolidation and become the only leading steel industry in the US.
