The correct answer is William Howard Taft

William Howard Taft was a president between 1909 and 1913. He was defeated in the elections for his second term by Woodrow Wilson because Roosevelt split the republican party by running as an independent candidate, so many republicans supported Roosevelt which cost Taft the elections. Later in life, he became a chief justice of the supreme court.
