Why was early christianity so threatening to the roman empire?

    Because the Roman gods felt as if their power would be no longer needed and that their people would revolt against them.

    All the citizens of the Roman Empire had to honour all Gods. The jewish were an exception. They had the right only to worship their own god. The christians were die hard followers of their own God and no other God.
