In the past large quantities of ancient artifacts were removed from Egypt, Italy and Greece. The study of these artifacts, led to significant progress in our understanding of the Ancient Mediterranean world. Today, there are attempts by modern governments to have those artifacts returned. In your opinion, should such artifacts be returned or should they remain with the institutions that acquired them and subsequently produced the research on them? Why?
