They made life easier, more productive, and more profitable.

As new inventions were introduced to America, they made creating products much more convenient. In factories, machines of mass-production, such as the conveyor-belt and the cotton gin, made factory-produced products much easier and faster to make than by hand. Within homes, other inventions allowed for home life to run easier and smoother as household inventions made their way into American homes.
