    Explanation:

    The Indian ocean trade was the east west trading route long before any farthest trade route started and involved many countries like Persia, India, China and the Roman empire as well.

    Therefore, there was no central governance involved. Later to which Islamic influence overtook the trade which was destroyed when Portugal intervened. The classical era was marked with establishment of the trade route.

    Later in the post classical era, Islam religion risen and the route was seen to flourish but the intervention of Portugal destroyed the route.
