In his original hypothesis, Wegener did not reasonably explain how was the mechanism by which the continents moved.

    Explanation:

    Hello!

Alfred Wegener proposed the theory of continental drift in 1912. In this theory, Wegener explained that the continental masses move slowly, but continuously.

Originally, although Wegener convincingly founded the fact that the continents are moving, he could not prove how they do it.

Currently, Wegener's theory is considered a precursor to the theory of plate tectonics, which was formulated in 1960.
