    Portugal is the major country which possessed a monopoly in exporting the slaves from Africa. Around six million Africans were transported as slaves to Europeans specially to Britain and France. Africa lost much if its young human resource to other European countries for exchange of weapons, arms and munitions. In order to protect themselves, many slaves started to procure weapons illegally and they ran away from their slave owners in search of a respectful life.

    Many African slaves were transported to Europe and America, wherein the slaves were held by their slave owners. They were made to work in the settlers' farms. They were made to toil in the tobacco plantations and coal mines in America.
