The two reasons why the New Mexican and pueblo people revolted against Albino Perez in 1837 was:

1. They resented the idea that the Governor, Albino Perez was inposed on them by the president, Santa Anna

2. They assumed that, due to the changes in the constitution of Mexico, Pérez would attempt to levy the taxes and completely restructure the regional political system in accordance with the new constitution.
