    The Seminoles successfully resisted from being removed from their land through violent resistance. This resulted in the Second Seminole War that saw the massacre of soldiers led by Major Dade in Sumpter County. Under the leadership of Osceola, the Seminoles also attacked white soldiers in Citrus County and vowed to continue resistance
