    This statement could be true because after the Great Depression of the 1890s, immigration increased nearly by 5 million. Immigration grew from 3.5 million in that last decade to 9 million in 1910.

    It had a greater effect because immigrants from all Europe, specifically from Northern and Western regions still arriving in the U. S. territory. The number of immigrants from Eastern European and Latin America increased by 1910.

    Some people emigrate from its countries due to political or religious persecution, others, to improve their economic conditions. People from Hungary, Italy and Poland came to work in the coal or steel mills. Industrialization demanded job opportunities in the railroad companies. Immigrants overpopulated the principal cities until 1920, due to the immigration restrictions imposed by the government.
