The Dred Scott decision was important because of significance about the decision made about Slaves. This decision was made by the Supreme Court in 1857 in which it was announced that owners of the slaves have the right to take their slaves to the western territories. Because they thought that slaves are the property of the owner and they cannot be taken from him without due legal process.

The jury who made the decision consisted of 9 judges, out of which, 5 were in favor of the slave states, so the decision was made on the majority base.

    Dred Scott was a Slave.
