In history, Japan has only been defeated once by the United States which brought World War II to an end. The United States went on to occupy the Japanese State led by General Douglas MacArthur who was the Supreme Commander of the Allied powers. Between 1945 and 1952 General MacAuthor brought economic, military, political and social reforms. On September 8th, 1951 a San Fransisco treaty was signed to mark an end of the Allied occupation subsequently bringing the Japanese back on April 28th, 1952 to mark the regaining of their independence.
