Geographical features of the Middle East like climate, vegetation, and mineral resources led to the development of Mesopotamia, since they provided people with important resources such as gold, silver, copper, zinc, uranium, lead and coal. The Tigris and Euphrates were the main rivers in Mesopotamia and the climate was also beneficial as it was warm, dry and with few rainfalls. Besides, the land was fertile because of the flooding of the rivers which made this area ideal for farming.
