    Hello,

A major reason for resentment among the German people was that because of the Treaty or Versailles, Germany was stripped of its power and military, and it's land mass was greatly reduced. Along with this, they were also required to pay off the effects of the war, which they did not accomplish until 2012. The resentment was also one of the reasons Hitler was able to gain so many followers.
