The Founding Fathers created three separate branches of government so that there would be a balance in power.

The three branches are able to use checks and balances to limit each other's power.

One example of a check is that the judicial branch can review laws that the legislative branch makes and can determine them unconstitutional.

Answer: The Found Fathers created seperate branches of government so one branch wouldn't be too powerful can could over run the government. The Founding Fathers didn't want their government to be like the British where the King had all the power they were scared that would happen.
