This meant conquering the country from Native Americans, with the aim of spreading capitalism and democracy further west, on the pretext that it was a destiny and mission received from God. The idea was that it would take over the entire continent, with the exception of Native Americans, obstacles were also the states in the South. Capitalism was seen as an idea of missionary, and of spreading progress and development.
