    In the 1930's, Japan began to expand its territories and took over parts of China and territories of the Soviet Union. Japan fought over the Pacific in the second world war.

    The economy of Japan also suffered from economical crisis due to events such as the Great Depression etc. The main problem that the Japanese were facing was the lack of aw materials for construction.

    Having been indicted for acts of aggression, Japan had already withdrawn from the League of Nations in 1933, and in 1934, after rejecting the Washington Agreement, began arming rapidly.
